FleetAfrica to implement & distribute FleetWave software

The company, part of Supergroup, is a leader in fleet management and outsourcing for both the private and public sector markets in South Africa.

Initially, FleetWave will be adopted by FleetAfrica to replace an in-house legacy system that no longer meets modern IT needs, before being offered to the general market including the company’s 120-strong customer base.

Managing director Kamogelo Mmutlana said: ‘Like other mature fleet markets where the advantages of leasing are widely recognised, there is a mistaken perception that the provision of fleet vehicles is almost a commodity purchase.

‘We believe that, while the vehicles and plant provided by companies like ourselves might often be identical, that there is a wide variance in the standard of management applied to them. As a company, we pride ourselves on providing marke- leading solutions and to do that, we need to have a world-class IT infrastructure.

‘Choosing to work with Chevin is the result of a very thorough and deliberate buying process. We believe that this is the best system of its kind available and will enable us to continue to develop our solutions successfully many years into the future.’

Mr Mmutlana added that FleetAfrica also foresaw a growing market for fleet management software in South Africa and across the continent and believed that there was considerable potential in becoming a distributor for FleetWave.

He said: ‘Both within our customer base and elsewhere, we believe that there is a high degree of interest in management information systems that can provide a sophisticated infrastructure for fleet management, delivering a high level of control and detailed management intelligence reporting.’

Paul Verkinderen, Chevin sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa added: ‘The market for fleet software across Africa is moving on apace and it is an exciting move for us to be partnering with such a strong local business.’
