G3 Vehicle Auctions acquired by America’s Auto Auction
America’s Auto Auction has expanded into the international market with the acquisition of UK-based G3 Remarketing (operating as G3 Vehicle Auctions).
The deal signals America Auto Auction’s first footprint outside the United States, and includes G3’s two prominent locations in Castleford and Bedford.
More than a geographic expansion, it’s seen as a major strategic partnership. G3’s reputation, rapid growth and its ‘phygital’ approach to remarketing – blending digital and physical platforms – makes it the ideal partner to lead America’s Auto Auction’s international debut.
Chuck Tapp, CEO of America’s Auto Auction, explained: “Entering the UK market is a defining moment for our company, and there was only one way we wanted to do it, with a partner that is already setting the standard.
“G3 has built something truly differentiated in how they serve customers and evolve the auction experience. That made this the right first step internationally. We are not here to change what is working. We are here to invest in it, support it and help take it even further.”
America’s Auto Auction said it was committed to preserving the culture, service and processes that have driven G3’s success, and will retain the G3 Vehicle Auction name.
Founded in 2009 by Matt Dale and Amanda Holtby, G3 Vehicle Auctions is known for its customer-first approach, transparent buying process and advanced technology.
Through its integrated marketplace, the company remarkets a wide range of vehicles, including cars of all models and conditions, vans and light commercial vehicles, motorbikes, wheelchair-access vehicle and non-runners. Its operating model features daily sales segmented by price point.
The firm’s flagship Castleford location, opened in 2021, can process up 50,000 vehicles annually and hosts multiple sales each week. The Bedford site further expands G3’s national reach, with capacity of up 30,000 vehicles annually while offering a 14-acre facility that increases accessibility for dealers and vendors across the south of the UK.
Matt Dale, joint founder of G3 Vehicle Auctions, said the deal would further bolster G3’s position as the UK’s ‘go-to’ remarketing partner for both vendors and purchasers.
“It became apparent as soon as we engaged with America’s Auto Auction that they would be excellent custodians of the company. It was critical that the values, culture and long-term vision aligned with our future ambition for G3.”
Cooper Parry served as deal advisor and Gordons as legal advisor to the sellers, with Squire Patton Boggs serving as legal advisor to America’s Auto Auction.
