Geotab has added Volvo Cars to its OEM partner network, streamlining connected mobility for fleets through its MyGeotab solution.

Volvo fleets benefit from turnkey connected mobility and OEM data integration on a single unified platform

Available now globally, the partnership benefits Volvo fleet operators through turnkey connected mobility and direct OEM data integration on a single unified platform.

The integration is suitable for all Volvo models fitted with the Volvo On Call connectivity service or the Android-based infotainment system and extends back to the 2014 model year.

By combining rich OEM data and the analytical power of the Geotab platform, the partnership provides commercial fleets with advanced telematics and connected mobility – all ready to use without retrofitting. This enables fleet operators to derive valuable insights to make near real-time decisions to boost their fleet performance.

Benefits for fleets running applicable Volvo models include the ability to optimise fuel and energy usage to improve route planning and reduce fuel costs, EV charging monitoring and vehicle usage tracking and recording.

Volvo fleet operators can also track vehicle health data and set up automated maintenance reminders to reduce downtime.

Christoph Ludewig, VP leasing/rental/mobility & OEM at Geotab, said: “For decades Volvo Cars has been renowned for manufacturing durable, reliable and robust cars while being at the forefront of innovation. These are the same features and values that define Geotab’s data and analytics solutions. I am delighted to partner with Volvo Cars within Geotab’s OEM telematics ecosystem and continue the joint journey towards seamless fleet connectivity.”

Jonas Rönnkvist, head of data business and strategy at Volvo Cars, said the alliance would enable fleet operators to harness the full potential of the company’s connected vehicles.

“With this integration, fleet managers can seamlessly access critical insights that help maximise the value and performance of their Volvo cars, ensuring they meet the demands of modern, data-driven operations.”

In addition to Volvo, the MyGeotab platform now integrates OEM data from all leading automotive manufacturers across Europe – as well as data from Geotab’s retrofitted telematic devices. It supports fully electric, plug-in hybrid and conventional internal combustion vehicles, tailoring data points to each powertrain type.
