Iveco is continuing its rollout of latest e-mobility solutions with a range of enhancements to the eDaily.

The Iveco eDaily gets a range of enhancements

Pitched as the ‘same Daily, just electric’, the electric van launched earlier this year, using a modular battery concept with customers able to specify their vehicle with one, two or three 37kWh units to balance range with payload and journey patterns.

It’s now been enhanced to offer the option of a fourth battery pack on 72C 7.2-tonne GVW 5100mm chassis cab models, giving a total 148kWh of power and enabling a WLTP range of up to 240km (149 miles).

Debuted as the Italian commercial vehicle maker also launches its S-eWay electric HGV, the three- and four-battery eDaily models also get faster 115kW rapid charging, enabling 62 miles (100km) of range in as little as 20 minutes. Additionally, chassis cab vehicles gain the flexibility of an optional side-mounted charging port to optimise convenience for drivers.

The eDaily’s 15kW ePTO capabilities have also been extended, now offering 50kW of power in high-voltage and mechanical ePTO forms. The extra power means the ePTP can now be used to power equipment used in specialised missions such as gully cleaning, firefighting, snow ploughing, garbage collection and more.

Meanwhile, the eDaily 42S with its 4.25-tonne GVW – which can be driven on a category B passenger car driving licence under the current derogation – can now be optioned with Air-Pro pneumatic suspension, delivering a smooth ride while also reducing body roll. Air-Pro also comes with a memory function which can adjust the vehicle chassis height for unloading and save it via the memory function for repeat deliveries.

Other changes include the arrival of Smart Routing features, either via the new infotainment or the eDaily Routing app. These match the arrival of a dynamic digital driver’s display and new multimedia screen on the standard Daily and enable the driver to check the predicted range with the system advising on when intermediate charging is needed, taking into account the route and range estimations via AI.

Iveco has also enhanced functionality with new eRemote controls that remotely manage the vehicle’s settings via the Easy Daily App or through the Iveco On portal. Remote functions include checks on Hi-Matic settings and Eco Mode, which can be locked on to ensure maximised fuel efficiency during operations. This feature also enables remote control of ADAS settings, ensuring vehicle active and passive safety.

Other changes include a full digital cluster and integrated infotainment for the eDaily.

Many of the updates have been carried over to the standard Daily, which gains a host of new features. These include a ‘Ready to use’ dashboard designed to make the driver’s life more comfortable and with a new human-machine interface (HMI) featuring a standard 10.25-inch fully digital configurable cluster. It’s joined by a new infotainment system with a 10-inch colour display integrated into the central section of the dashboard and with new functionalities to again enhance the driver’s experience onboard.

The Daily also gets improvements such as Keyless Entry & Go for urban distribution and a full set of services to unlock increased business productivity.

Iveco also offers a host of dedicated services to support customers opting for the Daily’s CNG or electric versions. They include the eMobility services developed to help the transition to electric mobility by maximising the vehicle’s uptime, vehicle range and energy efficiency. Iveco also offers its ‘GATE’ all-inclusive, pay-per-use solution for the long-term rental of greener commercial vehicles.
