Jaguar I-Pace scores triple win at 2019 World Car of the Year awards
The Jaguar I-Pace has become the first model ever to score three category wins at the World Car of the Year awards.
Announced at a grand finale awards ceremony at the opening of the New York International Auto Show, the electric SUV took the overall 2019 World Car of the Year title as well as the 2019 World Green Car and the 2019 World Car Design of the Year awards.
As well as marking the first time in the World Car Awards’ 15-year history that one car has achieved a win across three categories, it’s also the second time in 15 years that one company has achieved a triple win, following in the footsteps of Mercedes-Benz in 2015.
Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover CEO, said: “For I-Pace to be awarded 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car gives our first all-electric vehicle the ultimate recognition it deserves. I would like to thank the team who have created I-PACE for their passion in making it so outstanding.”
