Ride-hailing platform Karhoo has teamed up with Spanish taxi firm Taksee to launch a new roaming partnership.

Boris Pilichowski, co-CEO, Karhoo

The partnership, which will initially begin in London and Paris, will operate like a roaming contract as with mobile phone users in Europe.

The deal will see Taksee provide its customers with the ability to order on-demand or pre-book vehicles while travelling abroad by tapping into Karhoo’s network.

The partnership also expands Karhoo’s Spanish ride-hailing marketplace with 7,000 new vehicles added to its existing coverage of over 20,000 vehicles in the country.

Boris Pilichowski, co-CEO, Karhoo, said: “In Taksee, we saw an innovative start-up that wants to collaborate with others for the betterment of the mobility sector. These values are shared with Karhoo, so it made perfect sense to begin working together.

“This new alliance represents a big step forward in our journey to create a fully integrated and seamless transport experience for passengers worldwide. As a result, we are confident that it’s the first roaming partnership of many.”

Taksee’s co-founder and CEO, José María Cánovas added: “Taksee offers a differential corporate mobility management solution and this ‘roaming association’ strengthens synergies with a fabulous network. It adds more value to our customers by combining the best of Karhoo and Taksee’s leadership in our respective areas.

“By integrating with the Karhoo platform, our customers can now be sure that they will receive the best local service available, whether in Madrid, Paris, or London.”
