European telecoms contractor KN Circet is running electric vehicles supplied by Northgate Vehicle Hire as it starts to migrate its fleet to EVs.

KN Circet has migrated several of its field teams in its Customer Installations Division to the new Kona Electrics, supplied on Northgate’s 12months+ package

The 29 Hyundai Kona Electrics are on Northgate’s 12months+ plan and are being used by several of the firm’s field teams in its Customer Installation Division under its partnership with Northgate Vehicle Hire.

David Thompson, managing director installations division at KN Circet, said: “We have been monitoring EV technology over the past 10 years, waiting for a vehicle that aligns suitability with affordability.

“We see this initial deployment as a significant step towards our aspiration to have a fully electrified fleet, over time.”

The vehicles have been implemented as KN Circet looks to reduce costs in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. The Kona Electrics are already bringing lower fleet maintenance and running costs as well as cutting vehicle emissions.

Billy McGregor, managing director, Northgate Vehicle Hire Ireland, said: “At Northgate Vehicle Hire we are seeing more and more Irish businesses actively seeking to reduce their carbon footprint. Switching to electric vehicles is just one way these companies can make a positive change. Northgate were happy to support KN Circet with their requirements to provide an eco-friendly, cost-effective vehicle solution delivering zero emissions.”
