LeasePlan achieves 1.5 million vehicle milestone

By / 8 years ago / News / No Comments

The latest growth in the 32 countries where LeasePlan operates follows a rise from 1.3 million vehicles in 2010 to 1.40 million at the end September 2014.

LeasePlan, which was recently sold to a consortium of investors for €3.7bn, added that it had seen accelerated growth across all client segments, which range from large corporations and public-sector entities to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individual drivers.

However, as a result of an increasing focus on delivering new service offerings for SMEs, this market has become its fastest-growing client segment, reaching double digit growth, up 11% year on year.

It added that large international clients remain an important segment, served by LeasePlan International. This business has too expanded, with 8% growth year on year.

LeasePlan also attributed its growth to its strong corporate client base, which has grown 6% globally compared to the same time last year.

Nick Salkeld, chief commercial officer at LeasePlan, said LeasePlan was the first company in the industry to reach the 1.5 million vehicle landmark, saying this “confirms once again our global market leadership and underlines the success of our growth strategy”.

He added: “We do not however just want to be market leaders in fleet size – this landmark also confirms the confidence that our customers have in our company and the great team of LeasePlan people in all our countries who deliver our services worldwide. We want to continue to be market leaders in all that we do: in customer service, in product innovation and in the driver mobility solutions we offer. And we are not complacent. We will continue with our drive for growth, for customer service excellence and our commitment to lead the market in making the lives of our customers easier.”
