Limited-edition Ford Ranger Thunder gets tough looks and performance
Ford is introducing a limited-edition Thunder version of its third-generation Ranger pickup, providing bold design backed by robust performance.
Derived from the highly popular Ranger Wildtrak series, the latest Thunder model provides optimised load hauling and tough four-wheel drive capability with enhanced style and specification.
A total of 4,500 Ranger Thunders are being offered in 20 markets across Europe, powered by Ford’s bi-turbo 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine, providing 213hp and 500Nm of torque, and also features Ford’s 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard, also seen in the F-150 pick-up and Ford Mustang. Married up with four-wheel drive system, the Ranger is rated for fuel efficiency from 9.1l/100km and 239g/km (WLTP).
The single-spec model features Sea Grey paintwork with red highlights on the grille and sports hoop, complemented by three-dimensional-effect ‘Thunder’ badges for the driver and front passenger doors and tailgate and a matte black ‘Ranger’ logo.
External styling features also include bespoke 18-inch black alloy wheels and Ebony Black detailing around the front grille, rear bumper, skid plates, fog light surrounds, load bay sports hoop and door handles.
LED headlights with darkened bezels are also standard, with darkened taillight bezels at the rear. A black Mountain Top powder-coated roller shutter with bedliner divider is available as an optional extra on Thunder.
The interior gets full Ebony leather seats with ‘Thunder’ red embroidery and matching stitching across the steering wheel, seats, instrument panel and key touch points throughout the cabin. Black floor mats are also standard and contrast with bespoke red-illuminated sill plates.
Deliveries start later this year.
