Mercedes-Benz Vito gets range of updates
Mercedes-Benz has revealed its facelifted Vito and eVito Tourer minibus, introducing new engines and styling as well as more than double range for the eVito Tourer.
On sale from Q2 2020, with the eVito Tourer following in the summer, the facelift brings a number of exterior styling changes, including a new radiator grille and an enhanced vehicle interior, along with the availability of the brand’s four-cylinder 2.0-litre OM 654 diesel engine for all Vito panel van variants with rear-wheel drive.
The replacement to the OM 651 range, the new engine line-up is more efficient and refined. Already seen in the passenger car range, it’s available in four variants, ranging from 102hp to 190p and with CO2 emissions from 154g/km to 173g/km.
The Vito, which is available in a choice of three lengths and two wheelbases and comes with a 1,396kg payload, is also offered in front-wheel drive guise with an entry-level 1.7-litre in 102hp and 163hp versions with emissions from 168g/km to 172g/km.
The eVito Tourer – which is offered in two different lengths – also gets upgraded with the 90kWh battery seen in the EQV and a new 150kW motor driving the front wheels. This compares to the 41kWh battery and 85kW motor on the previous version.
As a result, official driving range rises to 421km (262 miles) from the previous 186km – although both of these are NEDC figures.
Drivers of the eVito Tourer also benefit from the Mercedes Pro connect connectivity solutions, including the ‘Remote eCharging’ service where customers have the possibility to set the temperature in the vehicle interior before they even start their journey.
The Vito also offers a growing package of Mercedes Pro connected services, from live traffic information to driving style analysis.
Equipment changes introduce Airmatic air suspension while driver assistance features gain Active Brake Assist as standard and Distronic is now available as an option. The line-up also benefits from an improved reversing camera and digital rear-view mirror
The facelift also extends the range of infotainment systems, with digital radio reception (DAB+) for all radio options and the addition of the new Audio 30 infotainment systems as standard.
