New chairman to transition Daimler FS to Daimler Mobility
Daimler Financial Services AG has announced a reshuffle of its top management ahead of its switch to Daimler Mobility next year.
The business announced today that chairman Klaus Entenmann will step down from his position in May 2019 to enable a smooth transition to a new leadership team before his scheduled retirement in December 2019. Entenmann will remain with the company and continue to focus on strategic projects and the further development of the mobility services portfolio.
He will be succeeded by Franz Reiner, currently Board of Management member responsible for Europe, reporting to Bodo Uebber, Daimler Board of Management member responsible for Finance and Controlling and Daimler Financial Services. Reiner is currently also responsible as CEO for the Mercedes-Benz Bank AG and for the Athlon business.
His appointment brings a reshuffle that will see Peter Zieringer, currently Board of Management member responsible for the Americas region, succeed Franz Reiner as Board of Management member responsible for Europe – including the German market.
Peter Henn, currently Board of Management member responsible for the Africa & Asia Pacific region, will succeed Peter Zieringer as Board of Management member for the Americas region, and will in turn be succeeded by Yvonne Rosslenbroich, currentlyBoard of Management member for Human Resources and Labor Relations Director.
The company added that a successor for Franz Reiner as CEO of the Mercedes-Benz Bank AG as well as a successor for Klaus Entenmann as the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Mercedes-Benz Bank AG will be announced shortly.
The changes come as Daimler FS pushes ahead with its transformation into a mobility provider; this includes its renaming to Daimler Mobility AG in the first half of the y ear, as announced this summer.
Speaking at the time, Bodo Uebber said the decision had been taken “because in our business division we finance mobility, we insure mobility, and with the new name we make a strong statement with respect to the future of mobility”.
Announcing the management reshuffle today, Uebber said: “Having worked with these outstanding leaders for such a long time, I am confident that they will continue to lead Daimler Financial Services into a very successful Daimler Mobility AG future as we further shape the way mobility is experienced and consumed around the globe.”
