Dacia is introducing a new family model, focused on “accessible” pricing and bringing seven seats and a hybrid option.

Due early 2022, it’s the latest new model to join the brand’s line-up following the recent launch of the latest Sandero and the Duster SUV, and effectively replaces the Lodgy MPV.

Based on the same platform as the new Sandero and positioned as a family car, it’s been designed to combine the length of an estate, the spaciousness of an MPV, and the looks of an SUV. Dacia also says it will bring record levels of space and modularity.

It will be 4.5m long and have seating in three rows that can be arranged into more than 60 possible configurations. Boot space ranges from 213 litres to 1,819 litres VDA and the Jogger will also bring a low load sill, availability of modular roof rails and 200mm of ground clearance.

Depending on the market, a five-seat model will also be available.

From launch, it will be available with two engines: a brand-new 110hp 1.0-litre petrol engine and the TCe100 LPG bi-fuel engine, also in the Sandero and providing a combined maximum range of 621 miles with WLTP combined cycle economy of up to 37.1mpg.

A hybrid engine will follow in 2023, said to provide the most affordable seven-seater hybrid on the market. It teams up a 1.6-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a multi-mode automatic transmission, combined with a 1.2kWh battery.

Equipment includes a choice of three multimedia and infotainment systems while advanced driver assistance systems bring emergency brake assist, blind spot warning, park assist and hill start assist.

Orders are scheduled to open in November 2021 in some 30 countries, mainly in Europe, but also in Turkey and Israel. The Dacia Jogger will arrive in dealerships in February 2022.
