New VW navigation feature provides congestion alerts on regular routes

By / 8 years ago / News / No Comments

Dubbed ‘Regular Routes’, the feature is standard on the latest generation of the Discover Media and Discover Pro radio-navigation systems from Volkswagen.

The system works by storing any navigation routes ad then listing the three most frequently driven in the infotainment system in line with the given day of the week and the given time of day. Drivers can then activate a function that monitors that particular route without active navigation, even if the driver decides to take a different route to the destination.

Only if there is a traffic problem along the route will the system then suggest that the automatic active detour feature be engaged.

Volkswagen AG added that the technology is perfect for commuters as well as drivers who regularly travel local routes.
