Peugeot e-208 gets extra power and range

Peugeot is boosting the electric range and power on its e-208 supermini from next year with a new powertrain.

Official range will rise 10.5% to 400km

The major update from next year will see the e-208 gain the electric motor and more efficient 51kWh battery from the recently revealed e-308 and e-308 SW hatchback/estate.

As a result, maximum power will increase by 15%, from 136hp to 156hp, while official range will rise 10.5%, to reach up to 400km (248 miles) from the current 362km (225 miles).

It’s the latest update to efficiency for the e-208 and comes only 10 months after tech changes and a switch to more eco-friendly tyres upped the range from 340 km (211 miles).

Since the e-208 first launched in 2019, almost 110,000 have been produced since its launch in 2019, and the brand says it’s been leading sales in the electric B-segment in Europe since the beginning of 2022.

The longer-range e-208 will arrive on the market in 2023.
