The fully electric compact coupe-SUV is a core part of the brand’s electrification plans and will be the first Peugeot to launch on the new STLA Medium platform from parent group Stellantis.

The Tesla Model 3 rival will deliver a rakish new design, along with upgraded interior features, and a choice of three powertrains. These will include a dual-motor all-wheel drive version while range will stand at up to 435 miles (700km).

Peugeot has also previously announced that the new 3008 will get an updated i-Cockpit infotainment system, featuring a 21-inch high-definition curved digital display.

The E-3008 is one of five new Peugeot EVs due for launch by 2025, supporting its goal to be fully electric by the end of the decade.

Peugeot gave a sneak preview of its upcoming EVs at its ‘E-Lion’ digital event in January 2023, which set out its strategy as an EV brand. It’s adopting a three-stage approach to full electrification. By 2023, every model in the line-up will be electrified, while by the middle of the decade every model will come with a fully electric option. And by 2030, all Peugeots sold in Europe will be 100% electric.

The E-Lion strategy also adopts a holistic 360-degree approach to going net zero through the brand’s ‘5 Es’. These encompass: Ecosystem – including the wider products and services; Experience; Electric; Efficiency and Environment. All have the end goal of sustainability and the carmaker’s commitment to achieve carbon net zero by 2038.

The new E-3008 will be revealed in full at 12:30am CET on 12 September 2023 live from the  Sochaux in France where it will be produced.
