Polestar appoints Easee as recommended charge point provider

Polestar has entered into a major charging agreement with charging and fuel supply firm Circle K Norway and charging operator Easee as it ramps up for the launch of the Polestar 2 electric car in Norway.

The agreement means that all Polestar customers are offered a highly discounted charging station for home use. Designed and manufactured by Norwegian Easee, the charger is distributed, assembled and operated by Circle K and its nationwide network of installers.

More than three out of 10 electric car owners do not have a charger at home, according to recent figures from the Electric Car Association, and many still charge from conventional household sockets.

“Through the agreement with Polestar, we are making efficient and safe home charging for more Norwegians,” said Marius Blaker Høgevold, director of private charging at Circle K.

“It is important for us in Polestar, and electrification of the automotive industry in general, that the infrastructure for charging is simple and accessible to everyone, and we are very excited about this cooperation,” outlined Alexander Hørthe, head of Norway for Polestar.

According to sales director Caspar Mariero-Klees of Easee, the three parties will ensure a complex and seamless customer journey from order to installation to charging.

“We have wanted to cooperate with Polestar for as long as I can remember. They represent tomorrow’s automotive industry, with a high focus on sustainable sourcing and manufacturing, minimalist but luxurious design and not least a seamless customer journey. We are both Scandinavian technology companies that want to make the world a better place by creating and innovating instead of doing like everyone else,” explained Mariero-Klees.
