Polestar Formula 2030 concept car to preview future Polestar 2 and 7

Polestar has teased its Formula 2030 concept car, which will showcase future design directions for upcoming models.

The concept previews design cues from the Polestar 2 due in 2027 and the upcoming Polestar 7 compact SUV

Delivered as part of the firm’s wider 2030 commercial strategy, the concept previews design attributes that will be seen on the new Polestar 2 due in 2027 and the forthcoming Polestar 7 compact premium SUV, while emphasising the brand’s performance credentials.

The concept highlights the brand’s future visual direction under head of design Philipp Römers, who formally joined the company in January 2025, while “amplifying the already established performance, technology and sustainability pillars”.

It evolves Polestar’s Scandinavian design language while keeping familiar elements such as the Dual Blade headlights.

These direct design attributes will transition into the newly planned Polestar 2, while the new aesthetic pillars will also heavily influence the development of the forthcoming Polestar 7.

Römers said: “Polestar’s design and brand is already so strong, it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before. Formula 2030 delivers this, showcasing our future while respecting brand-defining elements like the familiar Dual Blade headlights ensuring it remains recognisably a Polestar with a strong, characterful identity.”

The concept will be shown to Polestar investors, retailers and select group of VIP customers during an exclusive behind-the-scenes preview at a comprehensive Formula 2030 strategy event at The Cube, Polestar HQ in Gothenburg.

The showcar will make its public debut later this year alongside media drives for the new Polestar 4 SUV variant, which is open for orders now.
