Renault shares vision of electric ride-hailing with EZ-GO concept

Renault has shown how it thinks shared urban mobility could look in the future with the unveiling of its EZ-GO concept at the Geneva Motor Show.

Renault EZ-GO

The Renault EZ-GO concept provides Level 4 autonomous operation.

Outlining how the group plans to have ride-hailing robo-taxi commercial services by 2022 latest – enabling it to sell on-demand mobility services – the concept is designed to transport people – up to six passengers simultaneously and be fully autonomous, including changing lanes when overtaking and managing junctions.

The service could work through an instant-booking service from an app, or from in-town stations, operated by private or public organisations.

The vehicle is built on a platform specifically designed for its electric motor, which is located on the rear axle with the batteries located under the floor. It features a 4CONTROL chassis with 4-wheel steering and active suspension.

Charging is in the form of a wireless induction battery charging system.
