Škoda’s Superb iV and Octavia iV / vRS iV models are being made available on its blue light fleet, marking the brand’s first plug-in hybrid offerings for emergency services.

Offered in hatch and estate body styles and with blue light conversions, the trio mean that police, ambulance and fire and rescue authorities across the UK can take advantage of the economic and environmental benefits associated with lower-emission vehicles

The Octavia vRS iV – Škoda’s first electrified vRS model – is aimed at rapid response police units. Its 1.4-litre TSI engine and 116hp electric motor combo delivers 245hp, giving a 0-62mph time of a little over seven seconds and a pure electric range of up to 39 miles.

Standard kit includes 19-inch alloy wheels and full LED Matrix headlights with adaptive front light system, alongside Skoda’s range-topping 10-inch Columbus touchscreen display and accompanying 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit.

The new Octavia iV will also join the emergency service fleet shortly, using the same powertrain but with a total output of 204hp, torque of 350Nm and up to 43 miles of pure electric range.

The Superb iV is powered by the same engine again, producing 218hp and a pure electric range of 37 miles. Full range is up to 578 miles and it’s offered in four different trims. Luggage capacity stands at 485 litres in the hatch and 510 litres in the estate, rising to a maximum of 1,800 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Škoda’s bespoke emergency service conversion treatment includes 360-degree lighting and a full integration of the emergency services’ communication platform within the existing infotainment touchscreen. This ensures all functionality, such as the lighting, can be controlled through one central accessible platform.
