The company’s latest figures show that the True Fleet Market, which covers commercial registrations without manufacturers, dealerships and Rent-A-Cars, was still growing in Italy (+14.8%) and especially in Spain (+34.5%, representing the strongest monthly growth rate in 2015 so far). UK was rising as well but on a moderate level (+1.1%) compared to May 2014. France and Germany had to report a drop of True Fleet registrations for the first time in the current year (-0.4% and -4.8% respectively) but the German Market suffered from two working days less compared to May 2014.

The True Fleet Market in France was almost equal to May 14 with a slight loss of only 0.4%. Within the Top-10 brands Nissan and Opel showed a remarkable performance. Nissan jumped on fifth position with a growth rate of 19.4%. The positive result was mainly due to the models Qashqai (+25.3% and leading the SUV segment for the first time in 2015), new X-Trail and Pulsar. For Opel the new generation Corsa is gaining momentum (+189.3%) taking over fifth position within the Small Car segment (May 2014 rank No. 13).

In terms of volume growth in absolute figures Mercedes C-Class was unbeatable in the German True Fleet Market gaining six positions and ranking 6th behind Volkswagen Passat, Volkswagen Golf, Audi A4, Audi A6 and Skoda Octavia. C-Class (especially its Estate version T-Modell) and new V-Class helped Mercedes to push the volume by +13.4% compared to May 14. Double-digit growth rates were recorded for Renault (8th, +14.5%) and Toyota (10th, +12.4%) as well.

For Italy, with 22.8% of all True Fleets registrations the Small Car Segment scored its highest share ever. Within this vehicle class Ford Fiesta was in really good shape ranking second behind Fiat 500L and followed by Fiat 500X, Fiat Punto and Renault Clio. The new Smart ForFour already entered the Top-10. The Small Car Segment is closely followed by the SUV with a share of 21.7%. The Top-3 SUV models in May were Jeep Renegade, Peugeot 2008 and Nissan Qashqai.

For Spain, figures of +34.5% over May 2014 and a year-to-date growth of more than 30% show that the market is really recovering strongly. Volkswagen is in the lead and recorded a rise of 40.8% followed by Renault, Peugeot and Ford. BMW pushed its registrations by almost 70% gaining five positions in the ranking (from 10th in May 14) with exactly the same amount of Fleet registrations as Opel.

A great performance in the Spanish fleet market was achieved by Land Rover with an all-time record share of 3.0% in May. Range Rover Evoque ranked number two in the SUV segment only beaten by Nissan Qashqai. With Range Rover Sport in 9th position the British manufacturer succeeded in being represented twice in the Top-10. And the all new Discovery Sport will surely generate additional volume in the upcoming months.

Finally, for the UK Dataforce reported that SUVs seem to be unstoppable. In four out of the last five months the SUV segment was already the strongest vehicle class. In May its share (27.2%) was as high as never before. This positive result is spread over many market players. Nine different brands are represented in the Top-10 SUV models in May. Nissan Qashqai is number one followed by Vauxhall Mokka, Nissan Juke and Ford Kuga. Mitsubishi Outlander improved its volume by more than 300% and reached rank number five. About 80% of Outlander registrations in fleet were ordered with the PHEV hybrid engine.
