True Fleet Market in Russia on the rise

By / 8 years ago / News / No Comments

Latest figures from Dataforce show that private registrations in May fell 14.0% but actually rose 0.2% for True Fleets.

For the January to May period, new passenger car registrations by private owners declined by 4.7% while the True Fleet segment grew by 9.4%.

Dataforce added that the True Fleet market share might still not appear impressive in comparison to most of the Western European countries but with year-to-date share of 10.0%t the result is significantly better than in previous years. However, it added that channels with a more tactical character like Short Term Rentals, Dealerships and Manufacturers aren’t as established to the same extent as in some Western markets.

Lada is leading the home (fleet) market but lost 1% of market share compared to Jan-May 2015. Toyota and Hyundai ranked number two and three are growing impressively with growth rates of + 33.4% and + 36.6% respectively. Another big winner in 2016 is Kia, ranking 6th behind Skoda and Volkswagen and rising by + 55.5%. The top 10 is completed by Dacia, Nissan, Mercedes and UAZ.

Dataforce added that the ranking of the top models in fleets indicates the different preferences between private owners and companies. While the most preferred company car – Hyundai Solaris – is also very common for private buyers (ranked third) the models Lada Largus, Toyota Camry, Toyota Land Cruiser and Lada 4×4 don’t appear in the top 10 for the Private Market.
