True fleet market plateaus in Germany

Following the positive growth seen over recent months, the true fleet market saw 0.1% growth in September while the private market fell 0.3% and special channels fell 7.9% – as a result of the importance of tactical registrations to the market, overall registrations were down 3.3%. However, year to date, the total market is up 2.2%.

Within the true fleet top 10 for OEMs, Volkswagen was in pole position with Mercedes climbing two places to second thanks to 17.5% growth in September, driven in particular by the GLC and the E Class. BMW remained third with Audi in fourth.

Skoda was fifth, achieving the top 10’s second highest growth of 34.9%, pushing Ford back to sixth. Opel held its position in seventh and Renault climbed one position into eighth. Toyota moved up to ninth slot, fuelled by its hybrid engines in general and the new C-HR in particular, which led to growth of 57.8% – the highest rate inside the top 10. SEAT completed the ranking with its 45th consecutive top 10 appearance.
