The two carmakers have signed distribution deals with Cirencester-based IA Electric Vehicles, which already imports DFSK EVs to the UK, and will start sales in Q2 2024.

Seres, part of the Seres Group and with its automotive arm based in California, made its official UK debut at the London EV Show in December with its 3 electric SUV. It’s priced from less than £30,000 and will go on sale in April 2024.

Skywell New Energy Automobile Group will land in the UK around the same time. Launched in 2011, the brand sells electric buses, vans and trucks as well as cars. Its first model to launch in the UK will be the ET5 midsize SUV, which delivers an official WLTP range of 304 miles, along with 204hp of power and the ability to quick charge 20%-70% in 38 minutes.

Alongside the EVs, IA Electric Vehicles, which says it’s the UK’s first multi-brand electric vehicle company, will also offer support packages and flexible finance solutions. It’s also inviting single- and multi-site dealers from across the UK to get in touch about franchise opportunities.

Gary White, general manager at IA Electric Vehicles, commented: “This is a very exciting time for IA Electric Vehicles as we welcome Seres and Skywell into the family, alongside DFSK. Both brands are highly respected around the world and their technology, comfort and refinement are a perfect match for the UK marketplace.”

Other EV brands primed to launch in the UK this year include Omada, an offshoot from car giant Chery. Its 5 midsize crossover will land this spring in both petrol and fully electric guise.
