A new consulting firm that specialises in helping automotive organisations set up, strengthen and transform their used vehicle operations has launched in the UK and globally.

The new consulting ‘supergroup’ consists of four experts with decades of experience

Dubbed MA5, the consulting ‘supergroup’ has been founded by four expert consultants with extensive knowledge and experience in various strategic areas of the remarketing industry.

By pooling and leveraging their expertise, MA5 is able to tailor solutions that perfectly fit its clients’ used vehicle needs.

MA5 Used Vehicle Consulting Group aims to provide value-added solutions to its clients, which range from OEMs and leasing companies to dealers, dealer groups and online remarketing platforms.

Services include remarketing strategy development, residual value management, powertrain mix optimisation, distribution channel innovation, and customer journey improvement.

The four co-founders each have many years’ experience working with companies across the remarketing value chain, delivering a wide and complementary basis of expertise. Each one closely follows a number of specific focus areas, which will help customers keep ahead in a market undergoing rapid and profound changes. They also cover a wide range of languages and geographies.

Co-founders include Johan Verboin (Belgium) who brings nearly 20 years of OEM experience and is also the founder of 5S Consulting, and a board member of CARA, the European Car Remarketing Association. His focus areas include leadership in the broader automotive landscape, future strategies and RV management.

Silvio Grandelis (Italy/Netherlands) has management experience with a wide range of OEMs, was a senior specialist and executive at DEKRA, and is managing partner at mproov automotive consultancy. His focus areas span training, behavioural skills and coaching.

Mike Foden (UK) is a former head of vehicle remarketing and used cars at Toyota GB and has held a variety of sales and marketing management positions with OEMs. His specialist areas include market intelligence and powertrain transition.

Finally, Ian Wright (UK) was the former global operations director for PEP Automotive and previously worked in senior positions with a number of automotive retail businesses. His focus areas run from customer journey and certified programmes to standards and audits.

The company is active globally, using Europe as a valuable example to other regions and offering support in local languages via a global networl. The co-founders have worked with dozens of supporting partners, have scaled up individual projects to teams of up to 15 people, and have supported project developments in local languages via a network of associated trainers and consultants.
