White label mobility solution launches in Germany
Daimler’s moovel mobility platform subsidiary has teamed up with the Karlsruhe Transport Authority KVV in Germany to launch a mobility app.
Aimed as a solution for transport operators and transport companies, the ‘KVV.mobil powered by moovel’ app provides real-time information on public and alternative mobility services in the KVV operation area and enables users to search, book and pay for a range of mobility services.
Drawing on features from the German moovel app and moovel transit products from the USA, the app displays connections and departure times of buses, trains and trams at all 1,900 stops in the KVV area as well as available rental bicycles from regional bike-sharing provider ‘Fächerrad’, a service by Nextbike.
The move follows last year’s announcement that the city had been chosen as the test centre for an autonomous driving project.
Karlsruhe’s Mayor Dr Frank Mentrup commented: “This pilot project between the moovel Group and KVV, which is already a driving force for sustainable mobility in Karlsruhe, underscores the city’s commitment to help shape the transformation in mobility as a central IT and business location.”
The white label solution will be offered alongside the moovel app, which is still available to all customers in Germany, and will be available for use by all transit authorities and agencies, with just factoring fees to pay.
