ARI’s new Alexa app is being used to pilot fleet data and voice control

Unveiled at the fleet management giant’s Best in Fleet conference in Miami Beach, Florida, the app will allow end-users to interact with their fleet data and ARI insights, the company’s web-based portal, by asking to learn information out loud, and receiving the information the same way. This will cover information related to fuel, accidents, maintenance, downtime and purchase orders.

The pilot will assess whether fleets actually want to use the technology in the field and if it creates efficiencies in managing their vehicles.

The firm said it also believes the Alexa technology could also create efficiencies internally, too, as people shift toward Alexa, thereby eliminating the need to make a phone call to ARI.
