Arval has appointed Annie Pin as its new chief executive officer, effective 1 April 2027.

Annie Pin, Arval CEO-designate

Pin will initially join the vehicle leasing and mobility company on 26 October 2026 as senior advisor to current CEO Alain van Groenendael, who has led Arval since January 2019. She will then succeed van Groenendael, who will transition to become chairman of the Arval board of directors on 1 April 2027.

Pin will be Arval’s first female CEO, marking a historic milestone.

Pin brings more than 20 years of international experience in mobility and financial services. She began her career in 2004 at Société Générale’s General Inspection before moving to ALD Automotive, where she held several senior positions across the Nordic region, including regional risk director and managing director for Norway.

Most recently, she served as the group chief commercial officer at Ayvens, formed by the combination of ALD Automotive and LeasePlan.

Pin is well-known for her expertise in the electrification of corporate fleets and the development of future mobility solutions. She is also a co-founder and board member of Inspiring Women in Fleet (IWIF), an initiative dedicated to improving gender balance across the industry.

As CEO of Arval, Pin will report to Thierry Laborde, chief operating officer of BNP Paribas, in charge of Commercial, Personal Banking & Services (CPBS).

“With the recent acquisition of Athlon, Arval is starting a new chapter of its history, becoming the European co-leader in long-term vehicle leasing,” said Laborde. “I am delighted that Annie will bring more than 20 years of international leadership experience in mobility and financial services – an invaluable asset as we accelerate Arval’s next phase of development.”

Alain van Groenendael has successfully led Arval as CEO since January 2019. Before heading Arval, he spent a decade at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, becoming its chairman in 2015. He has been a pivotal figure in driving the BNP Paribas Group’s international digital transformation and strategic partnerships.

“Alain has played a key role in strengthening Arval’s position in the mobility sector,” Laborde stated. “He brought teams together and drove the strategic initiatives that have enabled Arval to anticipate and embrace the profound changes reshaping mobility.”
