Audi debuts PAYG rental scheme in UK

Audi has launched its On Demand short-term rental scheme in the UK, offering a range of models for hire.

The Audi On Demand service enables drivers to hire various Audi models for periods ranging from one hour to 28 days

Already available in markets including the US and Japan, the scheme enables drivers to hire vehicles for periods ranging from one hour to 28 days. In the UK, vehicles will be available to collect from Audi dealers or can be delivered within a 30-minute radius.

The first facility has been launched at the Oldham Audi facility near Manchester and will be followed by dealerships in Edinburgh and Glasgow later this month and in Newcastle, Birmingham and London later this year, with a view to establishing a nationwide network in the longer term.

Vehicles covered under the scheme include the A1, A3, A4, A5, Q3 and Q5 ranges. Prices start from £70 for daily rental and the all-inclusive fee includes unlimited mileage, fully comprehensive insurance, roadside assistance, and delivery and collection.

The carmaker said the ‘On Demand’ branding would also be expanded to offer a series of mobility products – again focused on customer flexibility and convenience – as it looks to develop further in this area.

Andrew Doyle, director of Audi UK, said: “The traditional model of ownership is consistently evolving and this innovative concept firmly puts Audi UK ahead when it comes to meeting consumer demand and transforming into a digital premium car company.”
