Autorola UK is celebrating 20 years of pioneering the online vehicle remarketing sector, marking two decades of digital transformation in the automotive industry.

The five original team members with Autorola Group CEO Peter Groftehauge

The milestone dates back to 1 August 2006, when the business officially launched following the acquisition of Macclesfield-based Global Remarketing from the American group Polk.

The UK market served as one of the very first testing grounds for Autorola Group CEO Peter Groftehauge’s vision to build a truly global, digitised vehicle remarketing business.

Two decades later, Autorola has 20 subsidiaries – spanning from Brazil to Australia – along with 16 European countries in-between. The UK division remains a powerhouse within the global group, ranking in the top five globally and employing a team of more than 60 colleagues at its Macclesfield headquarters.

While the company began as an online auction pioneer, it has since evolved into a multi-faceted automotive technology provider. Today, Autorola UK supports OEMs, fleet operators and dealers through an array of digital platforms. These include the Indicata used car pricing platform and the Fleet Monitor asset management and business workflow system. Autorola also continues to offer its core digital auction platform that started it all.

Neil Frost, Autorola UK managing director

Five original team members who started with Autorola UK on day one in 2006 are still with the business today. Neil Frost has risen through the ranks to become managing director while Harriet Medwell now serves as finance director. Kelly Hill manages the company’s data operations as data manager, and Matthew Maksymuk continues to drive revenue as sales executive. Finally, Kathleen Brummitt has transitioned from the UK team to work directly for Autorola Group HQ. The quintet were recently joined by Autorola Group CEO Peter Groftehauge to celebrate the company’s anniversary at its Macclesfield UK HQ.

Commenting on the milestone, Neil Frost said: “What started as an exciting opportunity has developed into an incredible journey. This milestone is not just about growth in numbers, but about the people and partnerships behind it.

“Thank you to all our employees and customers in the UK who have helped build such a successful business together,” he added.
