Fleets at the forefront of the EV transition have shared their experiences as part of the relaunch of Climate Group’s EV100 network of 120+ companies committed to electrifying their corporate fleets.

The #EVLearnings series will help fleets tackle challenges and progress the rollout of electric vehicles

The #EVLearnings series, part of a two-week social media and content campaign to spotlight the relaunch and help shape EV fleets, features five thought leadership pieces.

Taken from Prologis, Ingka/Ikea, Geopost, Siemens and Delta – all of which are members of the EV100 network of electric fleet pioneers – the case studies and insights will help fleets tackle challenges and progress the rollout of electric vehicles.

Large-scale fleet electrification and the need for reliable data

As part of the campaign, technology company Siemens has shared how its global reporting system tracks progress, identifies obstacles and highlights regional differences.

In line with its goal to reach net zero operations by 2030, Siemens launched the SieEV100 programme 2021, which supports its commitment to the EV100 initiative and targets full fleet electrification across all business units and regions.

Siemens said: “With more than 300 stakeholders involved across central functions and regional entities, ensuring alignment and shared understanding has been critical. Regular community calls, country-specific roadmaps, and targeted local support created a foundation for consistent progress and adaptability to local conditions.”

How to make employee charging smarter and more popular

EV100 member and electric fleet pioneer Delta was a first mover on deploying EV charging infrastructure at its sites.

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has shared insights into how innovative technology can be used to regulate employee charging behaviour.

Think local, invest and innovate to overcome EV challenges

Ikea’s largest retailer, Ingka Group, has shed light on how a dedicated project implementation manager for each country has helped them overcome challenges – and why innovative, local solutions are key.

Details of its journey, EV policy asks and progress are in this article.

The key policies for sustainable trucking

As a founding member of EV100+, now part of EV100, Geopost is pioneering the electrification of heavy-duty vehicles.

For its thought leadership article, the international parcel delivery company explains why advances in infrastructure and technology must be supported by policies to drive market shifts and reduce costs.

Why fast grid access requires a fundamental rethink of charging infrastructure

As part of the #EVLearnings series, US-based global real estate logistics group Prologis goes behind the scenes of its heavy-duty EV charging hub in California.

Powered by a microgrid, it was built – in record time – by fundamentally rethinking charging infrastructure design and deployment.

The new #EVLearnings series supports the relaunch of Climate Group’s EV100 coalition. Members of the network have put more than 700,000 EVs on the road so far and many have electrified over 50% of their fleets.

The relaunched campaign group (see video here) introduces a more flexible commitment structure to recognise diverse market conditions across different regions and vehicle segments. To find out more and to join the network, click here.
