Barnes joins FleetSafe from VisionTrack and brings more than two decades of fleet, telematics and operational leadership experience.

In his new role, he will play a central role in supporting FleetSafe’s next phase of growth, with responsibility for operational delivery, business scalability and the continued development of the systems, processes and customer experience that underpin the company’s expanding footprint.

His appointment follows a period of strong momentum for FleetSafe. In recent months, the business has continued to expand its leadership team with the appointments of Jason Fitzgerald and Jamie Sopp, while also launching FleetFusion, its new AI-powered fleet and asset management platform. Together, these developments reflect a clear growth trajectory as FleetSafe broadens its proposition across fleet safety, video telematics, compliance and operational intelligence.

Commenting on his appointment, Barnes said: “The business has built strong momentum, with a clear vision for where it wants to go and a proposition that is well aligned with the direction of the fleet market. There is a real opportunity here to build on that foundation, strengthen operations further and help deliver the next stage of growth.”

Simon Marsh, CEO of FleetSafe, added: “Gary’s appointment is another important step for FleetSafe as we continue to invest in the people, platforms and operational strength needed to scale the business. He brings deep industry knowledge, proven operational leadership and a strong understanding of what it takes to deliver in high-growth fleet technology environments.”

FleetSafe has continued to invest in technology and leadership as demand grows for more connected, intelligent fleet operations. With solutions spanning AI-powered video telematics, driver monitoring, fleet intelligence and device-agnostic data integration, the company is focused on helping fleets improve safety, gain clearer operational visibility and make faster, better-informed decisions.

The appointment of Gary Barnes underlines that ambition and adds further experience to a leadership team assembled to support long-term growth across the UK and international markets.

Simon Marsh added: “Recent months have marked a significant period for FleetSafe. We have expanded our leadership team, launched FleetFusion and continued to strengthen our wider platform capability. Bringing Gary into the business builds on that progress and gives us even more strength as we accelerate the next stage of our growth.”
