With styling shared between the brand’s design studios in Korea, Germany and the USA, the new Sorento will a model which has been popular in its highest trim levels in the UK since it was launched in 2009. So much so that Kia introduced a new range-topping KX-4 trim early last year.

The new car, which is much more streamlined than its predecessor, gains a more prominent version of Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, with LED-lined rear lights adding a premium feel to the back end, and a shallow roofline like the smaller Sportage crossover.

Expect it to retain the outgoing car’s seven-seat configuration and a choice of two or four-wheel drive models, catering for its towcar and corporate fanbase.

Kia has yet to announce a release date for European markets.
