Telematics leaders Wialon and Teltonika Telematics have connected their one millionth vehicle worldwide, cementing Lithuania’s role as a major hub for global fleet management technology.

The milestone showcases a highly profitable 18-year channel partnership. Teltonika has now held the position of top hardware manufacturer within the Wialon ecosystem for four consecutive years, with over 100 device models fully integrated into the software.

Together, the one million vehicles connected by Wialon and Teltonika cover a combined 67 million kilometres every day across 160 countries. That daily distance requires roughly 10 million litres of fuel. However, smart fleet telematics helps reduce unnecessary mileage and idling by an average of 10%, translating to a saving of approximately one million litres of fuel and 2,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions every single day – an amount of carbon that would take 100,000 mature trees an entire year to absorb.

Wialon is the flagship telematics and IoT platform developed by software company Gurtam and used by over 2,700 channel partners to track and manage more than four million vehicles.

Teltonika ranks among the world’s premier manufacturers of GPS and IoT tracking hardware, with offices in 27 countries and more than 10,000 channel partners. It manufactures GPS tracking devices for fleet, asset and workforce management across sectors such as logistics, agriculture, car sharing, construction and more.

The two companies began their partnership in June 2008, when Teltonika’s GH1201, FM4100 and Teltonika FM3101 went live using Wialon software. More than 100 Teltonika models are integrated with Wialon.

The joint technology targets high-volume B2B verticals including long-haul transport, cold-chain logistics, plus fuel management and car sharing.

Large-scale enterprise integrations include optimising 15,000 daily cold-chain deliveries for UAE-based Transcorp International, servicing major clients such as Amazon and Carrefour.

Wialon software and Teltonika devices are also delivering fleet-wide tracking upgrades for Spanish postal service Correos to upgrade tracking and fleet management for its 600+ vehicles, covering mail and parcel deliveries nationwide and internationally.
