Maxus is to showcase two new electric vehicles for the UK market at the CV Show from 24 to 26 May, as it also continues its £30m EV conquest programme.

The Maxus stand at the show will again be fully electric, with a total of 12 zero-emission vehicles

Details on the new vehicles haven’t been announced but one is expected to be the Mifa 9 electric MPV which launches in the UK later this year.

Unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late 2021, the Mifa 9 has initially launched in China and arrives in the UK in Q3 as either a seven- or an eight-seater, bringing a rival to the the VW ID. Buzz and the Peugeot e-Traveller.

It’s the first model to be built on SAIC’s Mifa platform, which could also provide the basis for future SUVs and pickups.

The powertrain uses a 245hp electric motor with a maximum torque of 350Nm and powered by a 90kWh battery, giving a range of up to 323 miles.

The Mifa 9 will also be equipped with an intelligent driving assistance system that operates in situations such as narrow road traffic, helping drivers avoid obstacles on both sides, and provides assisted parking. A new ‘intelligent driving housekeeper’ will also debut, automatically recognising driving style and adjusting the vehicle.

There are no clues to the second EV launch but Maxus has previously confirmed that it’s bringing its Euniq 6 compact SUV to Norway.

The new reveals at the CV Show form part of the brand’s continued commitment to greener motoring – its stand at the show will again be fully electric, with a total of 12 zero-emission vehicles, including an e Deliver 9 panel van, dropside and minibus, as well as the e Deliver 3 sports model panel van, tipper, specialist conversion van and milk float.

Mark Barrett, general manager of Harris Maxus, said: “The CV Show is always a highlight on the calendar for Maxus, but this year we are planning to go bigger than ever before. Extending our range beyond LCVs, we will be unveiling two new vehicles to the UK market on Tuesday morning, which we are confident will attract interest beyond the commercial market. This is a big moment for Maxus so make sure to stop by our stand because you won’t want to miss it.”

Maxus is also continuing its £30m conquest support programme, in order to help van drivers, small businesses and larger fleets move away from internal combustion engines (ICE).

Available today at any Maxus dealership in the UK, this programme is open to all customers who want to purchase an e Deliver 9. A £15k subsidy will be set aside for each vehicle purchased as part of the campaign – and EV experts from Maxus and the wider dealership network will be available to CV Show visitors to answer any questions related to electric motoring or the offer.

Mark Barrett of Harris Maxus added: “For anyone considering making the switch to electric, this is a golden opportunity to get up close not only with the Maxus EV range, but those who can offer advice and insight.”
