NAFA president Claude T Masters, CAFM said: ‘(The Committee) will prioritise the issues facing NAFA members, drafting position statements and developing strategies to ensure that our fleet voice is heard and that it has meaningful, positive impact.’

‘NAFA recognises the responsibility the Association has for being the fleet representative to lawmakers,’ added NAFA chief executive officer Phillip E Russo. ‘We have been instrumental in stating with, clarity and presence, what fleet's position is in terms of legislation. With this announcement, we are truly staking our claim.’

The Government Affairs Committee consists of NAFA members:

  • Richard Battersby, University of California at Davis
  • Kevin Fisher, ARAMARK Services Inc
  • Jeff Jeter, Chesterfield County
  • Paul Lauria, Mercury Associates, Inc

  • David Lighthall, Kraft Foods Group, Inc
  • James Maedel, JEA
  • William McCarty, City of Springfield
  • Maria Neve, Merchants Fleet Management

‘NAFA, as the leading association of fleet professionals, needs to continue to increase our interaction with the Department of Energy, with the EPA, with Clean Cities, and with all the federal agencies that impact fleets,’ Mr Masters concluded. ‘We want to improve the world we live in, and breathe in. We want to leave it a better place. We want to be a part of the solution.’
