Project EDWARD – Every Day Without A Road Death – is launching for 2022 with its most ambitious full week of events to promote road safety.

This year’s campaign runs from 19-25 September and brings the most ambitious full week of events yet to promote road safety

This year’s campaign runs from 19-25 September and will focus on ‘Changing Minds, Changing Behaviour’, backed by the UK government, the emergency services, highways agencies, road safety organisations and British businesses. Sponsors for 2022 include Drivetech, Webfleet and dashcam firm Nextbase.

The three legs of the road trip will criss-cross the country from Monday to Friday, visiting the very best examples of road safety projects across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Along the way, some of the most influential thought leaders in road safety will join the team to share their insights and experience.

It’s the latest work by the campaign, which promotes an evidence-led, ‘safe system’ approach – the long-term objective of which is a road traffic system free from death and serious injury.

Key highlights for 2022 include a new seven-day programme that will include events over the weekend of 24-25 September, focused on engaging motorcyclists including sports bikers, tourers, commuters and those engaged in the gig economy.

The week of action will be supported by a series of webinars each day with the country’s leading experts focusing on some of the most important road safety challenges.

Social media progress reports featuring projects, partners and guests will go live each day on the Project EDWARD channels, while daily broadcasts will go out every evening containing highlights of each day’s activities.
