Sixt is extending its MaaS app to cover micromobility by offering customers access to e-scooters.

The partnership will expand internationally

The move will enable customers to book e-scooters via the recently launched app in cooperation with Tier, initially in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Bonn and Münster but expanding internationally in the future.

Besides digital car rental, car sharing and ride hailing, the multimodal mobility offering of the SIXT App now also includes the rapidly growing segment of micromobility.

Said to be a world-first, the ‘One’ app integrates the firm’s car rental (Sixt rent), car sharing (Sixt share) and the ride-hailing/taxi (Sixt ride) products and enables customers to book and pay for services online.

Alexander Sixt, chief strategy officer of Sixt SE, said: “The demand for e-scooters is growing rapidly in major cities worldwide. We will include the popular e-scooters in our mobility range in Germany. This shows once again that the customer determines our offer. We are delighted to have won TIER as the ideal partner for the first and last mile.”
