State of Connecticut implements Chevin fleet software

The Fleet Operations Division provides vehicles and related services to 70 different state agencies and universities, delivering services that include vehicle procurement, delivery and disposal, internal billing, maintenance and repair services, fuel management, daily rental provision and fleet safety services.

The Fleet Operations Division will replace its current systems with a fully integrated enterprise fleet management solution from Chevin, allowing it to offer remote state agencies and individual drivers a complete view of all fleet-related information with the aim of improving utilisation and reducing operating costs.

Ron Katz, senior vice president of Chevin’s North American sales, said: “The State of Connecticut provides a wide range of essential services to almost four million residents, businesses and visitors. Many of these services would be impossible to conduct without the support of the Fleet Operations Division.

“That’s why it is important to ensure that fleet operations are as effective and efficient as possible in order to continually reduce costs, promote safety, ensure compliance and deliver high standards of service delivery to its citizens.

“Embracing our technology to support these objectives will put The State of Connecticut at the forefront of innovation for government fleet management organisations in the US.”
