Targa Telematics has published its inaugural sustainability report, pledging to pursuing sustainable goals and making responsible ESG decisions.

The report details Targa Telematics’ journey toward greater integration of ESG aspects into its business strategies

The report – available here – outlines the company’s core values and its commitment to innovation, responsible growth.

Developed in line with GRI Standards, Universal Standard and SASB indices, the document details Targa Telematics’ journey toward greater integration of ESG aspects into its business strategies. Subjects include the calculation of the company’s carbon footprint, the achievement of the EcoVadis rating (silver medal), ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certifications, along with the formalisation of its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact. The latter is a non-binding United Nations pact to get businesses and firms worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation.

The report is the latest development in Targa’s ongoing contribution to smart and sustainable mobility. The tech company, which specialises in the development of IoT solutions and digital platforms for the management and monitoring of vehicle fleets, has an ongoing commitment to lead in the pursuit of sustainable and responsible business practices.

Nicola De Mattia, CEO of Targa Telematics, said: “In order to consolidate our commitment to increasingly responsible business management even further, we are promoting a more efficient use of resources, reducing the environmental impact of our activities and promoting the well-being of the communities in which we operate. We want to be a positive example in our sector and the economy in general; the publication of our inaugural sustainability report is a testament to our dedication to this path.”

Targa Telematics’ focus for the future revolves around three fundamental pillars: people, business and the environment. For each of these pillars, the company has outlined precise strategic objectives and an investment plan for their realisation, ultimately aligning with the UN 2030 Agenda’s global sustainable development goals.

Its work towards sustainability is also showcased by the recent win of the ‘Sustainable Enterprise 2023’ award in the Digital Sustainability category by Il Sole 24 Ore. This recognised the company for its work in developing innovative smart mobility solutions that benefit individuals, businesses, and the environment.
