Targa Telematics tops European ranking of fleet usage-based insurance providers
Targa Telematics has secured first place in the European ranking of fleet usage-based insurance (UBI) providers by Ptolemus Consulting Group.
The strategy consulting firm for connected mobility recognised Targa for its innovation, capabilities and operational maturity in its UBI Global Study; widely regarded as the most comprehensive report on the global connected auto insurance market.
Now in its fifth edition, the study gives insights on the key trends, technologies and business models related to UBI services globally, recognising the companies that offer insurers the most effective combination of technology and performance.
Its work provides a reference point for stakeholders across the insurance ecosystem, from insurers and brokers to OEMs, solution providers, investor and regulators.
Ptolemus forecasts that 180 million vehicles worldwide will be insured under new digital models by 2035, generating more than €200bn (£173bn) in premiums for insurers.
Targa scored first place in the UBI Global Study after earning the highest combined score for capability, innovation and operational maturity. Its digital solutions support insurers in designing UBI services based on actual vehicle usage, enabling them to differentiate their offerings, attract new clients and increase retention among existing customers.
