Thomas Sedran, chairman of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Board of Management, has been named by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) as chairman for its Light Commercial Vehicle General Managers’ Committee.

Dr Thomas Sedran replaces Volker Mornhinweg as chair of ACEA’s Light Commercial Vehicle Committee

Dr Sedran takes over the role from Volker Mornhinweg of Mercedes-Benz Vans with immediate effect and has been appointed as the LCV industry faces a growing number of challenges, from air quality and climate goals, to driver shortages and increased demand for good transport, as set out in the ACEA Commercial Vehicle Manifesto 2019-2024.

“Key priorities for the coming years are providing new transport solutions and introducing increasing levels of automation,” said Dr Sedran. “Also high on ACEA’s agenda is the need to further reduce CO2 emissions from road transport in order to help achieve climate targets.”

The CEOs of all European manufacturers of light commercial vehicles sit on ACEA’s Light Commercial Vehicle General Managers’ Committee.
