Revealed at the Barcelona Motor Show, the latest Ibiza, which continues to be offered in five-door, SC and ST estate bodystyles, sees little changes to exterior design, with SEAT saying that the model’s styling is a central purchasing reason for customers. Minor changes comprise new headlights with LED daytime running lights, new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheel designs and two new paint colours, Moonstone Silver and Chilli Red. The interior sees more changes and gains new materials, a newly designed instrument panel and increased personalisation options.

However key changes are made to the engine line-up, with a range of new petrol and TDI engines from the VW Group. The entry-level engine is a three-cylinder 75PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol which is also available in 95PS or 110PS Eco TSI turbocharged versions with maximum torque of 160 or 200Nm. The 95PS version will also offer combined fuel economy of 4.1l/100km with CO2 emissions of 94g/km.

The petrol line-up also includes the four cylinder 1.4 Eco TSI with active cylinder management (ACT), which brings an improved output of 150PS and torque of 250Nm with combined fuel consumption of 4.8l/100km.

Among the new three-cylinder diesel engines, the 1.4 TDI with 75PS brings fuel consumption of 3.4l/100km with emissions of 88g/km. Each of the other TDI powertrains, with 90PS or 105PS, achieves 3.8l/100km or better.

The 110PS TSI and 90PS TDI are both available with the dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) and start/stop is available across the range.

Other changes include a speed-sensitive electric steering system and updated ride and handling, with springs, dampers and anti-roll bars being completely re-tuned. The Ibiza is also available with the optional SEAT Drive Profile, which offers adaptive damping with two modes – comfort or sports-orientated – with the settings also adjusting the power steering.

The new Ibiza also brings an increased focus on connectivity with the second generation of SEAT’s Easy Connect infotainment systems. The new MediaSystem plus and satellite navigation system can be enhanced with the MirrorLink function and SEAT has also developed its own app for MirrorLink, called SEAT DriveApp.

New safety systems
include the Tiredness Recognition System and Multi-Collision Brake.

The new model is in showrooms from autumn 2015.

In addition, the 2015 Alhambra has been unveiled and also brings updated styling, new engines and extra equipment.

Exterior changes include new rear light clusters with LED technology, plus updated brand logo on the front grille, rear hatch, steering wheel and newly designed wheels.

The interior is available with new trim colours and the design of the steering wheel and some of the control elements has been upgraded. The keyless entry and start system is another feature that has been included for greater comfort.

In addition, the new Alhambra 2015 comes equipped with a new generation of the SEAT Easy Connect infotainment systems.

The engine range has been completely revamped, with the direct fuel injection turbo units now 15% more fuel efficient. The 2.0 TDI engines are available on the 115, 150 and 184 PS versions. The two TSI petrol engines deliver 150 and 220 PS output and the latter delivers 20PS more than the previous version. The 150PS TDI version is also available with permanent four wheel drive.

Other changes include the DCC adaptive chassis control, newly engineered seats with massage function and the addition of the multicollision brake system as standard.
