Abax Environment Report to help fleets slash CO2

Abax has augmented its Triplog GPS telematics solution with a new feature to help fleets pinpoint where they need to cut CO2 and fuel, saving costs for the business.

The new tool, dubbed Environment Report, makes use of the Triplog telematics technology, which has been designed to offer vehicle tracking for every fleet type and size to manage risk, comply with legislative requirements and improve fleet-related efficiency and costs. It also offers an HMRC-compliant mileage claim solution for company, pool or grey fleets cars.

The Environment Report builds on this by providing operators with an overview of the emissions of each vehicle in the fleet, enabling them to compare it to previous years and benchmark where action needs to be taken.

The arrival of the new Environment Report comes two months after Abax introduced a new Driving Behaviour feature to enable fleets to increase efficiency and safety by monitoring how drivers use vehicles on a day-to-day basis. The tool is also based on the existing Abax Triplog GPS fleet management system, with the unit’s accelerometer sending data that creates a harsh braking, harsh acceleration or harsh cornering event.

Commenting on the new feature, Bjørn Andre Hagen, product manager at Abax, said: “The new CO2 Environment report comes alongside one of our new features Driving Behaviour, which will help enable fleet managers to get a full overview of the emissions of each vehicle in their fleet. It will help businesses to take actions, in order to save money on fuel and streamline the business.”
