ALD Automotive appoints Kent Bjertrup as chief commercial officer

The role is effective as as of 1 February 2016 and includes the responsibility for all Sales and Marketing activities of the ALD Automotive group.

Mr Bjertrup (pictured white shirt) joined the ALD Automotive group following the acquisition of Axus in 2003. In 2005 he left Denmark to lead the green field operation of ALD Automotive in Lithuania, and in 2009 he was appointed as the managing director of ALD Automotive in the Baltic entities. In 2010 he relocated to Moscow to become the managing director of ALD Automotive Russia and in 2012 he was appointed as the regional director for ALD Automotive activities in the North East Europe Region. In August 2014 Kent Bjertrup was additionally appointed as group country head of Societe Generale in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine.

His latest role sees him become the sixth member of ALD Automotive’s Executive Committee, alongside Mike Masterson, Pascal Serres, Tim Albertsen, Gilles Momper and John Saffrett.

In addition, Marek Malachowski, general manager of ALD Automotive Poland, is succeeding to Kent Bjertrup as the regional supervisor for the North Eastern European Region. Marek Malachowski keeps the general management of ALD Automotive Poland and stays located in Warsaw.

Mr Malachowski joined ALD Automotive group in January 2012 as the general manager of ALD Automotive Poland. Before entering the group, he worked first for Renault SAS in different positions in sales and marketing in Germany, Poland, France and Baltic States from 1991 to 2007 and then as a consultant for the automotive industry from 2008 to 2011.

Commenting on the two new appointments, ALD Automotive said the new organisation reflects its comment to “continue develop its commercial activities as well as product and services innovation for the benefit of its clients”.
