Enterprise expands in China

Enterprise has taken a 15% stake in eHi Auto Services which gives it access to 7,600 rental vehicles in 383 locations in 48 cities across China.

Greg Stubblefield, executive vice-president and chief strategy officer for Enterprise Holdings, said: 'Not only are our customers assured of a high level of service when travelling in China, but eHi’s customers will also be introduced to our award-winning service globally.'

China’s car rental industry is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world and through the deal Enterprise will offer eHi’s services to business and leisure customers travelling in China, particularly in "tier one" cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzen.

Ray Zhang, eHi’s founder and chief executive officer, added: 'We continue focusing on meeting customer needs by delivering convenience and reliable service.

'We’re excited that Enterprise has invested in our future growth and this investment partnership is a further endorsement of our credibility as a leading car rental operator in China.

'This is a comprehensive partnership covering business development, knowledge transfer and strategic planning,' he added.
