The new Euro 6 compliant engine range includes two versions of the 2.0-litre TDCi, as fitted to the majority of European cars, offering either 150PS or 180ps and replacing the outgoing 140PS and 163PS units fitted from launch.

At the most fuel-efficient end of the range, consumption figures for the the 2.0 TDCi with front-wheel drive have fallen to 4.7l/100km, from 5.3l/100km, and it now emits 122g/km instead of 139g/km for the old model.

Four-wheel drive models have also improved with the new engines, with both power outputs offering CO2 emissions of 135g/km and 5.2l/100km with a manual transmission or 140g/km and 5.4l/100km with the six-speed automatic.

Petrol options now comprise 150PS and 180PS versions of the new 1.5-litre EcoBoost turbo, replacing the old 1.6-litre EcoBoost. The former is only offered with front-wheel drive and consuming 6.2l/100km with CO2 emissions of 143g/km, while the latter is four-wheel drive only, and consumes 7.4L/100km while emitting 171g/km CO2.
