Ford India posts successful domestic and overseas growth in October

The company crossed the 100,000 unit sales market last month for the period January-October this year, clocking a total sales of 101,439 units – up from 77,324 units sold during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Last month, the company sold 8,091 units in the domestic market and shipped out 2,815 units overseas whereas in October 2010 the company had exported over 650 units out of total sales of 9,026 units.

Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India, commented: ‘The festivities at Ford India are continuing past Diwali.Having crossed last year's sales figures already, we are upbeat about closing the year with a new high.’

Ford Figo continues to see a surge in demand as Ford India exported 2,815 cars last month to 27 markets in total.

‘Exports are a strong part of our growth strategy. It's wonderful to see the Chennai-made Figo winning hearts of customers in overseas markets too,’ Boneham added. 

As part of its growth strategy, Ford India opened its 200th sales and service outlet. It is now set to expand its sales and service network to more than 220 outlets in 120 cities by the end of this year, with new dealerships coming up at 13 new locations such as Solapur, Gulbarga and Tirupur.
