The Free Now mobility app has received a new three-year private hire vehicle (PHV) operator licence in London, supporting further growth plans.

The new licence underscores Free Now’s commitment to investing and growing further in London and the wider UK market in the next three years

The company, part of the mobility joint venture formed in February 2019 between BMW and Daimler, says it currently holds the longest PHV licence of four largest operators in London.

The new licence underscores its commitment to investing and growing further in London and the wider UK market in the next three years. This builds on the steep increase in demand for private hire vehicle services in the UK market since the pandemic; Free Now reported that it quadrupled its PHV tours in June 2022 compared to the previous year.

Free Now connects users with over 40,000 registered drivers in nine cities across the UK.

It’s also expanded its offering in the past year, providing expanded travel options via a single app. Alongside PHV and black cabs, users can book the e-scooters and e-bikes thanks to integrations with key operators, including Dott, HumanForest and Tier.
