Hudson joins Manheim from Aston Barclay where he was managing director for almost two years. His global experience includes time in senior management at LeasePlan, where he was managing director for LeasePlan International. Prior to that, he was commercial and operations director for the company’s UK operation.

The key appointment has been announced after an extensive recruitment process and follows an earlier move by Manheim to extend chief executive officer UK & Europe, John Bailey’s role within automotive company to include all international operations outside the USA.

John Bailey, to whom Hudson will report, said: ‘I am delighted that we have been able to secure Tim in this important position. With his knowledge of the industry and previous experience, he’s the ideal person to lead Manheim’s exciting developments in Australia. Together with a number of Manheim colleagues, I’ve known him personally for many years and this means we can hit the ground running.’

Manheim has nine locations throughout Australia, New Zealand and Thailand offering a total range of services including remarketing, retail and de-fleet, as well as an extensive vehicle salvage operation. Additionally, the company sells plant and machinery, plus a wide range of recreational vehicles, boats and marine equipment.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim Hudson said: ‘These opportunities, particularly with a global organisation like Manheim, are very rare and I am absolutely delighted to be joining the business. It’s quite clear that, despite having a significant presence in the Southern Hemisphere for many years, Manheim has real expansion prospects in Australia and I look forward to leading these developments.’
