The CLA scored 91% for adult occupant protection, 75% for child occupant, 74% for pedestrian and 81% for safety assist. Euro NCAP noted that the CLA scored maximum points in the side impact barrier test, showing good protection of all body regions. It added that the front seats and head restraints provided good protection against whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end collision.

The Peugeot 2008 gained scores of 88% for adult occupant, 77% for child occupant, 72% for pedestrian and 70% for safety assist. Euro NCAP said that, with the 2008 being almost structurally identical to the 208 that it’s based on, it had carried over the 208 results where relevant, including for adult and child occupants. However new tests were carried out for pedestrian protection.

For the Suzuki SX4, Euro NCAP awarded ratings of 92% for adult occupant protection, 80% for child occupant, 72% for pedestrian and 81% for safety assist.

Finally, the Jeep Cherokee gained results of 92% for adult occupant, 79% for child occupant, 67% for pedestrian and 74% for safety assist.

Later this month, Euro NCAP will release its first crash avoidance test results with the intention of including such systems in its overall safety ratings next year.
